Hidaya Gabr founded Cakes Your Way after growing up with a severe dairy allergy and understanding what missing out on desserts during family outings, birthdays, and holidays meant. She experienced intense reactions, from ear infections to chronic colds, simply from consuming dairy, and was raised in a completely dairy-free household long before plant-based alternatives because her siblings and father all shared the same allergy.
Dairy-free living was her norm, but it was during special celebrations that the absence of dessert became especially noticeable. That’s when she started baking at home—for herself and her dairy-free family. She realized they were not alone. More and more people were dealing with food allergies and sensitivities—whether to dairy, gluten, eggs, or sugar. Even with the growing availability of specialty ingredients, finding YOUR favorite treat—like her personal favorite, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting—was still a challenge.
What started as a personal journey to recreate her family's favorite desserts became a passion to bake everyone's favorites—regardless of dietary needs or restrictions. That passion led to the creation of Cakes Your Way. At Cakes Your Way, Hidaya specializes in baking modified desserts (just as good as the traditional desserts) to accommodate a wide variety of dietary lifestyles, including dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan, keto, egg-free, etc. She also specializes in gourmet flavors and options - modified or unmodified.
Her goal is simple: to make sure no one has to miss out on the joy of dessert. Whether it's a birthday, holiday, or just a sweet moment shared with loved ones, everyone deserves a slice of something special.
